01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Located in Uzumasa Hachigaokacho, Tatsuki offers Kyoto-style Japanese dining within easy reach of Toei Kyoto Studio Park and surrounding temples such as Ninnaji. Within its quiet, restful dining room, guests can enjoy thoughtfully prepared fare across a variety of settings—ranging from accessible midday sets and rice bowls to reservation-only course meals for dinner or formal gatherings.
A midday staple is the Tatsuki Gozen, a balanced meal set complete with tempura, savory chawanmushi egg custard, small seasonal side dishes, steamed rice, miso soup, and pickles. Diners appreciate the gentle, dashi-forward seasonings and the quality of the cooked rice, which comes accompanied by house-made chirimen sansho (dried baby sardines simmered with Japanese pepper). For a quicker lunch, the prawn and vegetable tempura rice bowl, served hot with a side of miso soup, is another reliable and straightforward option.
Those looking to linger over a meal can turn to the lunch mini-kaiseki or the fresh yuba course, which highlights yuba (tofu skin) and chewy namafu (wheat gluten) sourced from venerable Kyoto purveyors. Featuring sashimi and seasonal dishes presented with care, the multi-course options also pair naturally with beer or sake in the evening. With complimentary parking available on-site and cashless payment via PayPay accepted, Tatsuki accommodates everything from a quiet sightseeing pause to relaxed family dining.
